I am now officially me.... virtually anyway. Feeling bored at 2am, I decided that what I needed in life was my very own domain name. Hence I now have http://www.shivkaushal.co.uk
The trick is to try and get Google to take the bait and start ranking that URL high up in searches for Shiv Kaushal. Hopefully this post , with its subtle use of links, will start the ball rolling!
Anyway, I need sleep!

yep ur right - youve been spoilt for choice here in manchester when it coms to currys
i actually moved from leeds to manchester -
when i first came to manchester i couldnt believe the transition - just walking from oxford road to wimmy road - it was almost a shock to the system . one second i was on a tranquil road - nxt i was like "jees" - so many curry houses and just the vibrancy and noise.
you wont find anything like that in Leeds - apart from in roundhay-and its quite a trek - and the curry houses arent a mile long either - and its the ghetto area aswell.
even when i first came onto the manchester campus it was a shock to the system. Manchester and leeds are in the "same league" when it comes to unis - so i expected to find the social demography almost the same. (just like at oxbridge - you would expect the same proportion of privately educated)
when you go to leeds - you'll find it predominantly white, and middle class.
I'm asian and at leeds i would have asian men coming upto me and saying "are you asian . . . are you paki/indian"
Here at manchester no one looks at me twice . at leeds it almost got to the stage of paranoia - cos the asian person wud keep staring at me. No seriously. i'm not exaggerating
so i would be interested to know how you find things.
if you wanted curry houses - your next best alternative would have been to move 2 birmingham- but I don't know if you could put up with the accen there - i hope ur not originally from bham - otherwise i mite have just offended u.
or the other alternative is to live in Bradford - and commute to leeds.

be warned - the campus at leeds is full of snobs.
i bumped into a guy yesterday at the bus stop - he had a bag with university of leeds emblazoned across it - i said to him isn't leeds full of snobs - he replied yes - it took me three years to work that out - it was only when he came to do his postgrad at manchester - he realised that all the students at leeds are snobs
